JOST at The Brisbane Truck Show 2021 – IT’S A WRAP!

It was great to have enjoyed such a successful event at the Brisbane Truck Show 2021. 31,000 customers came through the door - the largest indoor event in the Southern Hemisphere since the start of COVID. The Brisbane Truck show is no stranger to large crowds, however seeing this many people through the Brisbane Convention Centre after the lockdowns last year, was a fantastic experience!

The show received national television coverage through Sunrise and local coverage through ABC Brisbane. The Brisbane Truck Show also received a 16-page spread in the Courier Mail. Lord Mayor, Adrian Schrinner, said that he saw a 29-33% increase in foot traffic in the Brisbane CBD during the show - a fantastic result.

Craig Wallace, JOST General Manager, Sales and Marketing led an 18-member JOST team at the prominent JOST stand situated in the main hall over the four-day event. The team enjoyed the chance to mix socially in person with their colleagues, customers and other industry friends for the first time in a very long time!

Stand-out products included the award-winning JSK 42-ASW fifth wheel coupling, Tridec specialised Steering & Suspension systems, the Rockinger 50mm Tow Coupling and JOST Double Row Ballraces.

The JSK42-ASW low maintenance, pneumatic release sensor coupling was particularly popular with fleet operators seeking the latest in safety technology and product innovation.

The product saves drivers from a potential shoulder injury by allowing the driver to open the fifth wheel coupling from within the truck cab using push-button controls to the pneumatic release mechanism. The advanced technology coupling provides drivers with a coupling status from signals sent by sensors on the fifth wheel.

TRIDEC has been part of JOST World since 2008 and employs around 200 people at its European locations in the Netherlands and Portugal. It is a market leader in the engineering, design, and manufacture of mechanical, hydraulic and electronically controlled Steering and Suspension Systems for trailers.

Another popular piece of technology was the Rockinger 50mm Tow Coupling – and its 2.5-tonne download rating. This technology suits all applications such as PBS, fixed and hinged drawbar dollies, road trains, pig trailers, and dog trailers. The standard coupling can be upgraded to a pneumatic pin release system and a jack-knife sensor warns drivers when the drawbar angle reaches its working limit.

Finally, JOST Double Row Ballrace has been one of JOST’s most popular products since its first manufacturing in 1952. This product has an excellent durability record and an Australian ADR compliant 26-tonne downforce rating to suit higher gross weight applications such as PBS five and six-axle dog trailers.

We are grateful to our loyal customers and look forward to the next Brisbane Truck Show in 2023.
